It can’t eat you if you eat it

 The pla chon has a fearsome reputation in the West,where it has been called Frankenfish and snakehead and a voracious predator, complete with front-page headlines implying it is a Hollywood-type threat that can live underground and actually walk from dried-up ponds to find water.

And attacks people. And eats them.

Maybe.

But they’ve never been a threat around my house, where they get slapped onto a plate with herbs and side dishes of spicy dip. The pla  chon‘s name in English may be “snakehead,” but it is one of the tastiest fish — in the world. If you’re eating it, it definitely can’t be eating you.
