One of the big problems in the Thai news industry is almost a total lack of institutional memory. We should be following up stories more, and one of the areas that needs a lot of work is that we ought to call people on their fortune telling. If the Bangkok media thinks this is newsworthy enough to report (which it did in February), it should be newsworthy enough to follow up.
We are just coming up to the crunch time for this infamous prediction, made on February 11, which is almost three months ago:
The government won’t be around for long, no longer than 3 months.
