The editorial in today’s Bangkok Post has the aim (Good Thing) of discussing the noise problem in Thailand and what to do about it. But it quickly degenerates into the sort of snootiness (Bad Thing) that makes people stop reading, almost at the start:
It is altogether possible that the whole of Thailand may be so engrossed in the water festival that few or none will realise that today is International Noise Awareness Day.
Well… yes. Probably no one much cares it’s the international day of noise. I wonder if the editorial writer is aware that today is International Day of the Doughnut. Certainly the Bangkok Post has refused to tell readers where to gather to mark this humble event.
